He sounds so weirdly...jaunty. Way more than someone who's been captured ought to be. It definitely underlines for her that, failing all else, this certainly isn't some intergalactic tourist - but does it support or undermine the possibility that he's a government agent? After all, mercenaries are supposed to sound burly and tough and fierce, aren't they. Never did she imagine that he'd sound so puckish. He's practically chuckling, like he's got some in to some ridiculously funny private joke...If he was from the government, he'd be acting more like how a mercenary was supposed to act, right? He'd conform more to the stereotype, the expectation. It's only someone genuine who'd be free to show such a bizarre, un-military personality.

Just get more information. Learn more about him. The more you know, the better able you'll be to act.
