rathercommon: (moderately horrified)

Of bloody course, of bloody course it would go wrong soon as it even started. That's just Kitty's luck, isn't it. She'd seen that ship descending, and felt a fierce pulse of optimism and hope and delight. It had been so magnificent, so beautiful, descending from the sky with grace and ease...and then it had all come crashing down, literally and figuratively, as the mercenaries' ship had been swarmed by local forces and the Night Police had flooded through the landing site. And then she'd been hit hard by a stunning spell - a stun-gun, she corrects herself with annoyance, she knows perfectly well that it's not real magic - and that's all she knows about what went on.

Well - she's alive. That's a thing to celebrate. She'd only been stunned, not killed, and that's good. She's not waking up in an interrogation room, either, which means that they probably don't think she has any useful information; they probably grabbed her because they just thought she was a citizen who saw too much. Which doesn't mean she's going to end up any less dead, of course. But at least it buys her a bit more time, and maybe the advantage of surprise...

There's a voice. Someone saying - something weird, she can't really make it out, but it's enough to get her attention. She stands upright, the awful feeling in her head forgotten as she calls out, "Hello?"
